The charger for my cell phone died. Fortunately, I had a spare charger unit and switched to it. I looked at the old one and wondered briefly if it could be fixed. It seemed somehow to be a waste to just toss it in the garbage. But the parts and the effort to fix it would probably be far more expensive than the cost of a new charger. Love, ah… it’s easy for us to love each other. We are brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s easy to love members of your family, of your church, and it’s easy to love friends. But how about the hard-to-love?
What about the person that has wronged you? The person who has talked bad about you, spread gossip, rumors? The person that did you wrong in a business deal, at school or at a social function? Genesis 12:1 (NKJ)Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.
The more I study God’s word and then more I try to apply His word, the more backwards I feel. But, isn’t that how Jesus works? He turns the world’s ways upside down or rather right side up. Notice in this verse, God calls Abram, God asks for obedience from Abram, then God promises a revelation to Abram. So the order is a Calling, Obedience and Revelation. So far, so good.
