Living Below the Bar

“So Mephibosheth ate at David’s table like one of the king’s sons” (2 Samuel 9:11 NIV).

Who in the world is Mephibosheth and what possessed his momma to give him such a name?  Well, I can’t answer the second question, but I can shed some light on the first. Mephibosheth was a man who was living way below his potential.  He was the grandson of King Saul and the son of Prince Jonathan, but he lived like a pauper.  When he was a boy, his nurse dropped him while fleeing from their enemies.  As a result, he was crippled in both feet (2 Samuel 9). The Beautiful Tracks of LIfe

On the train tracks of life there comes a time when you travel the same tracks back. You know the return train home. Well i am here to say that I have returned to keep typing in this journal. It has been a long time since I have typed anything in this journal.  Mainly because of those little bumps that we hit in life.

It is easy to make cookie cutter promises such as “I will vow to write in this journal everyday until i die.” But like glass those promises are easily broken. I am at least going to shoot for once a week. Bringing everyone my bible studies once again.

By the way how do you like the new layout with the music player and all? I like to share with people what I am listening to and not to mention I am a pretty big music conoseur. Shoot me messages and tell me what you think. (I really want to know.)

Ok back on track (no pun intended) as i have said there has been a lot going on. I just recently got the internet back at home. (hence being able to write in here again) Also my brother is getting married and is soon going to be a daddy for the first time. I am real excited about this because I am going to be an aunt and get to spoil the child rotten then send them home. :D That is the one main big thing that has happened.

CLEAN YOUR EARS!!!

Faith in God is not merely believing that there is a God. Even the demons do that. Faith in God is not a fixed belief in certain truths or religious statements. Faith in God is a genuine response of the heart, mind and soul, to the presence of the One true God – in our lives.

To know, to trust and to obey Jesus – the Messiah – risen from death, is to have faith. To know him, is also to know the Father. Only the inward work of the Holy Spirit can impart to a person the gift of faith. And only the Holy Spirit can sustain and renew that faith. But how does this happen? It is a mystery of the kingdom of heaven. But it does happen. And it comes by hearing – hearing Jesus Christ himself speaking or preaching to us (Romans 10:17). Hearing is the key to faith.

The personal message of Jesus himself, spoken intimately, or secretly to each one of us, is always an amazing event. This can and should occur each time we listen to Scripture, and at other times – like now! Read the rest of this entry

Hanging In There

Well it certainly has been a tough day. I just learned that my Dad is going to lose his job come around august because they are closing down the plant that he works at. I guess it didn`t seem real to me when he told me until I got  to work and for those of you who don`t know I work at a newspaper. Well everyday we get together for a meeting and even knowing what I knew it still came as a semi – shock when my boss said that it was going to go on the front page. Then seeing it on the 6 O`clock news and again at 11 O`clock. Then since it is my job to put up the articles on the internet I saw it again for our front page on the internet. It was weird, and sad at the same time. My dad has been working there for 25 years and he is not the only one of course there is about 101 other men and women who will also lose their jobs.

The Greatest of Them All

Good day and may it be a peaceful and productive day for you. Let the peace of God be your referee in making today`s decisions. If you believe that it is wrong, but are not sure, “Don`t go there.” However, if it is good and you have counted the cost and the only thing keeping you from doing it is fear, do it, in faith.
