DON`T SPIT THE DUMMY!!

Sometimes you just can`t get certain people to willingly join in with anything. Some people totally avoid praising God in gladness, and they balk at embracing the slightest bit of suffering. Especially they do not want to be confronted afresh with the joys of a life lived in partnership with God, the Father. Jesus found it was like that in Chorazin and Bethsaida. And it was even worse in Capernaum, his ministry headquarters. It reminded him of little kids spitting the dummy, packing up their bat and ball and going home (see Matthew 11:17).

(We Don`t Always Get What We Want)

Luke points out that in Christ sometimes we don`t get what we asked for. Sometimes we don`t get what we want. Sometimes we get more than we ever dreamed.

Acts 3:1-11

Peter Heals the Crippled Beggar
1One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. 2Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. 3When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. 4Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” 5So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.
